Dad's Birthday
January 31st was my dad's birthday. We went to Popeye's in Lake Geneva for lunch that day.
Grandpa, Grandma & Auntie Kerrie joined us..
Popeye's has a Nautical theme..

Lemon Cream Cake
We made a Lemon Cream Cake for dad's birthday last weekend. Here are some tutorial pics-

We use this for birthday celebrations..
Lemon cream filling..

Putting the cream filling in the center..
Putting the top back on.
The lemon cream filling went in the middle & all around the cake..
Then we covered the cake with a crumb topping..
All finished!

Newborn Dress & Bonnet
My Auntie Kerrie is due to have baby Emma in late March. Her baby shower is next month. One of her requests was for a handmade baby hat & dress for Emma to come home in after she is born.. This is what I came up with-
It was the first time I've ever made something like this!
I had both the dress & bonnet finished within one day..

The Mural Project..
My latest project was to paint a mural in my cousin's room. They are preparing for a new baby, Emma Claire, due the end of March! Here are the pictures-
The main wall has huge flowers displayed on it!
I drew everything on the walls, & then I had help with the painting..

This is my cousin, Alyssa. She is going to share the room with her new sister (who will be 19 years her junior)!
Here I am creating a flower tree..
I had the idea to hange pictures from the branches..
Here is the finished look. It is so cozy!

Our Christmas
Well, here it is the New Year, 2010, & I am going to post about our Christmas! Sorry I'm a little late, but I was out of uploads last month.. So here are the pictures-

When she realized what it was, she started crying!
It was a set of dishes from Pottery Barn entitled "The 12 Days of Christmas". Each plate had a different picture.
